Just a short note this morning as I am off to see the hand specialist. I have been blessed with an earlier appointment. It was set for August, but due to a cancellation, I have received an earlier time slot. I am very pleased with this outcome. The Doctor is a good Doc. very gifted in his field. I am hopeing we are able to come to some sort of consensus as to what we can do to repair my hands and reduce the inflammation, as well as hopefully reduce the pain and find some way to remove the curling of the fingers. However, I don’t think we can return the strength to the hands. I haven’t heard of any nerve damage cases that have received full strength back into their hands after any proceedure. I do have hope.
Yes I still can type. Not as fast nor as accurate as I once did. I delete and backspace a lot and hen peck the keys :). I surely would get my hands slapped by my old typing teacher if she saw my typing or inappropriate typing skills. 😀
My job requires me to type so I keep exercising the fingers on the key board. However the hands do get extremely painful and tender after awhile.
I am hoping the doctor will be able to help me out so that I will be able to function better with less pain in my hands. (can’t do much with the rest of the body though, one thing at a time. :D)
I still get a lot of work done and that makes me happy. I am the type of person who has a ‘you work, you get paid’ attitude. Old school.
Further more I love working. It keeps me busy and I do learn so much each and everyday. My job is challenging and I love it when I set a goal and accomplish not just all of it but most of it. I set smaller goals on bad days and on my good days I set larger goals.
