Go Pro!

Go Pro! The words always pop up on my opening screen. Go Pro! Sounds like a hopeless dream they give so many young people these days, before crushing their dreams of going pro for big money. They make promises to the  financially embarrassed athletes the dream of big money  and lots of success.

The dream they whisk away when reality bites them.  They are just not that good and cannot compete at the same level as thousands of other athletes from all over the country. They put their focus on the sport instead of academia. Results can be hurtful.

The kids need their academics to get a decent job, when the promises fall short, or the injuries overwhelm them, leaving them without a future in the “Pro” world.

Going pro can mean more than sports. It can mean success at what you do.
